The way of democracy
Bureaucracy lays cue cards at our feet in hopes of squashing deeper thoughts that float in our mind
In time some forget that they are independent beings and start seeing things the way they want us to
Those red, white, and blue glasses with the my opic vision
A tricolor prism that distorts reality
Oh say can you see that the recipe for apple pie will not feed the multitudes
Or that the platitudes you spew will not sustain a nation
The mis-education of a malnourished population disguised as patriotism
Led by Lady Liberty
The symbol of opportunity that does not exist for all
A tall tale of ideologies that tells us we are free....
