MY LIFE STORY
A native of Seattle, WA born under the astrological sign of Leo, The Lioness Stephanie has been writing since the age of 6. Her 1st book was made in the first grade by a teacher. The subject was Valentine's Day and from that point on the desire to write was apparent.

Stephanie considers the ability to express herself through the written word as a tremendous gift. She believes that words whether they are scribed or spoken have the power to destroy or uplift. She hopes that her poetry inspires, provokes thought, and maybe for some sparks change.

The inspiration for her writing comes from her own life experiences as well as those of people around her. She also finds that current events or history can jumpstart the pencil. In the past year over 100 poems have been written as a result. Stephanie also finds that experimenting with different forms of poetry like acrostics ,haiku, and the sonnet, challenges her to become more advanced in her writing style as does reading the work of other poets.

Her poems have been published in Black Diaspora Magazine, Poetry Motel, The Armchair Aesthete and she will soon have a poem published in the inagural issue of Darkling.

She is currently collecting poems for her 1st book of poetry which she hopes to publish in the coming months. With a working title of "Uncut" it will include her deepest thoughts on a wide range of subjects like love, heartbreak, politics, religion, death, and family. Basically all the things that make life the exciting journey that it is. Hopefully one day she will even conquer the open mic.....................

MY FAMOUS QUOTE

"Poetry should... should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts, and appear almost a remembrance."
